Spring has come to the Great Pacific Northwest.
We have a new up and coming showmen starting our show string this year.
I am thrilled to have him on our show crew.
My youngest niece, Gabriel Israel is quiet the young woman both in the
ring and outside the ring. She has grown in height, sprit, and maturity.
Her love for the art of drawing has bloomed.
My sons are planning their great American Road Trip to Yellowstone National
Park and Cheyenne Wyoming in June. My oldest son Joshua is graduating this
summer and headed to college in the fall so he and Daniel thought that
Yellowstone National Park and Cheyenne Wyoming were a great place to start
a road trip.
It’s been fun watching our kids grow up, but the time has come
to slow down our lives and schedules before we lose any more precious time
with them.
We have decided to take on only two shows this year,so we are wishing everyone the best of luck for the 2008 show season.
All Our Best,
John & Tina

We have been so very busy this month donating our time and knowledge
to the 4-H Horse Bowl teams in Eastern Washington and the enormous heavy
snow falls that we received last month, that we just lost track of time
for a bit. We’re back on track and would like to congratulate the
4-H Horse Bowl Team from 2007 for wining the State Championship and placing
4th in the Nation in Oklahoma State. WishBroke Welsh, Inc. and Tracy
Van Sickle gladly donate the shirts and embroidery to the team. We
were so ecstatic from last year’s team that when I was asked to judge again,
I happily volunteered for this years 4-H Horse Bowl Series. We are honored
to introduce these fantastic young adults as:
The 2007 Washington State Championship 4-H Horse Bowl team
Rachel Sullivan, Cara Myer, Jonet Mckay (coach), Ashley Nilson, Ashley
Dobson and Brett Moriarty.
We also have been very busy visiting with friends in the UK and Wales.
My husband John made a trip to Germany in September and asked if I would
be willing to meet him in Wales. Please, now what kind of a question was
that? I jumped on the chance and went for a trip of a life time. It had
been 7 years since the last time we visited Wales and England. We flew
into Heathrow airport were the Attrell family made arrangements to have
us picked up. We then made our way to Kent were Mattie, Jose, Mattie Jr.,
Sherrie Marie and Sam awaited our arrival. The Attrell and Geraint Davies
Family are a very dear and special part of our family. Without the special
attention of all involved in Wales and England the trip would have never
been possible.
The Studs we visited were incredible and the ponies and cobs were top
notch. Our visit started with Danaway Stud. First I can not say enough
about the accomplished years of breeding and knowledge that went into these
incredible Studs. At the Danaway Stud we were taken from one field
to another with amazement and awe. The mare lines at this stud are astounding.
Mattie arranged a trip to Trevallion Stud for us and during that trip we
had the great pleasure of having Charlie and Mattie Jr. in our company.
As we traveled to Trevallion Stud I listened to an incredible story about
an accomplished man that once headed an amazing family and an incredible
Stud (Mattie Attrell, Sr.). The history of these studs in England and Wales
are just phenomenal in history to me. We then journeyed to Southern Wales
in the very capable hands of Geraint Davies. Oh yes the travel on M4 was
amazing with Mr. Davies, especially once we hit the country side of Southern
Wales. But before we ventured on into some amazing Welsh countryside and
Studs, Geraint took us for an education of a life time, into a Welsh Coal
Mine Museum. Going down an elevator underground in complete darkness with
just a battery pack around your waist and a hard hat with a head lamp on
isn’t my cup of tea. This adventure wasn’t without tears or a heartstring
being pulled tightly for the families and animals involved.
The studs we were invited to were amazing in generosity, kindness, beauty,
delight and not to say that Welsh baking isn't to die for; we gain a healthy
5 pounds in a week. We would like to thank all the studs involved for their
time and generosity and we hope to see you again.
Best,
John & Tina Beamer
